The Invites Have Shipped!

Well, after all the hard work that came with finding an invite we loved, hunting down a talented (and local) calligrapher, and assembling, the invitations went through USPS yesterday!

The assembling process was quite a pain. I will admit that it was the least favorite aspect of the wedding process thus far. The entire living room was converted into an assembly line of invites, reception cards, RSVP cards and envelopes, and directions and accommodation cards. They were EVERYWHERE... it was almost amusing. :-)

I went to the post office to have them weighed, postage stamped, and them hand stamped so they don't have to be run through the machine. That was an interesting hour in itself! After placing $1.18 worth of heart stamps on each invite, I had to hand my box of invitations over to the post office so they could "Hand stamp them throughout the day, as they have time". I was not really comfortable with this, but it seems like it's standard...

I am psyched that they are done, sent out on time, and no longer in our living room! I am a little nervous about them being stamped and sent out well, but I am trying not to think about that. Hopefully over the next few days I'll receive confirmation that they arrived to some people safe and sound, and will no longer be nervous!

Until then, I am glad things are moving along... it actually seems like the wedding is almost here now! Yay!
